Slabs and structural

Concrete Services: slabs and structural work for Tampa Bay

Structural and utility concrete for residential and commercial properties, poured on a sub-base we checked first.

Chapter 01

Concrete Slabs

A slab is only as good as what it sits on. Garage slabs, shed pads, addition slabs, equipment pads and utility structures all get sized and spec'd for the intended load, with proper sub-base preparation and drainage grading underneath.

That order matters. We size and reinforce the slab based on the intended use and load requirements, but the load only means something if the compacted base and the drainage are right first. Most concrete failures in Florida trace back to inadequate sub-base preparation and drainage that wasn't designed into the project from the start.

So a garage addition and a small shed pad don't get the same treatment. Each one gets a site evaluation of the soil, the existing drainage and the grade before anything is formed, regardless of size.

Steps, retaining walls, flatwork and repair

Structural concrete covers more than slabs. Entry steps, retaining walls and flatwork all fall under this service, and each one has its own job to do. A retaining wall holds back soil and manages grade changes, so it has to resist the lateral pressure from the ground behind it. That is a different spec from a wall at grade.

Repair is a judgment call, and we make it on the cause, not the crack. Surface wear and minor cracking can often be addressed without full replacement. Settling, structural cracking, or drainage failures usually point to a sub-base problem that a surface repair won't solve.

We assess the cause during the site evaluation and give you a straight answer before recommending a scope. If a patch won't hold, we'll say so.

Chapter 03

Every phase on one crew

Site evaluation, forming, pouring, finishing and curing: every phase of the job stays with the same licensed crew.

You work directly with the owners, not a project manager and not a crew foreman, from the first look at the ground to the last pass of the finish.

Builders and developers use the same crew. We work with general contractors on both residential and commercial projects, and commercial and contractor estimates are provided within 10 business days.

Warren Perkins put his name on this company in 1989, and you still work directly with the owners. License #CPC1457580, veteran owned and operated, every job backed by a workmanship warranty.

Load schedule

Every slab is sized for what it carries.

The pour is the visible part. The grading and the base underneath it are what decide whether it holds up. For a closer look at how the finish layers sit above that base, read about concrete patios or the block framework in blocks and masonry. When you know what you want poured, send us the job details.
